A Decade of Healing: Celebrating 10 Years of the Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital

Healing has many meanings and facets. It sometimes encompasses what we see with the naked eye, like wounds and cuts, and sometimes goes deeper to renew minds and souls. There are too many stories of healing written in various spaces—stories that inspire and give hope. These things were at the heart of a vision to create a bigger space—a specialized center that caters to all aspects of a person’s healing. In 2014, this vision came to life by establishing Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital. Ten years later, we celebrate life-changing opportunities that have healed thousands of kids!

Through a partnership between the Sacred Harvest Foundation, CURE International, the Tim Tebow Foundation, and other partners, Tebow CURE opened its doors with a mission of “healing the sick and proclaiming the kingdom of God” as found in Luke 9:2. Because of this, the hospital has accommodated over 9,000 admissions, performed over 12,300 procedures, and spiritually ministered to over 38,000 people, resulting in more than 14,000 faith expressions through the 10 years of its operation.

In May 2025, Tebow CURE celebrated its 10th anniversary, paired with the celebration of its 2,000th surgical procedure for fiscal year 2024-2025, and the re-opening of the hospital’s new-and-improved playroom. The celebration revolved around honoring the hospital staff for their contributions.

A caravan headed by the staff kicked off the day as they proudly cheered and paraded the hospital’s most significant milestone. The official program started with a chapel service and a video of the hospital’s history. Tebow CURE’s Executive Director, Peter Cowles, delivered a message by reviewing the hospital’s growth and how the hospital and the staff have impacted patients. “Thank you for going above and beyond to make these patients feel welcomed and cared for. We are very blessed to have witnessed their stories and hope to cater to more kids in need as we expand our reach,” Peter said. More video greetings and messages from various stakeholders and hospital partners followed this. CURE International’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Giorgio Lastroni, encouraged the hospital staff to continue pursuing the mission.

2,000th Surgical Procedure: Mack Earl’s Story

As part of the Tenth Anniversary celebration, Tebow CURE celebrated Mack Earl and his healing journey as this fiscal year’s (2024-2025) 2,000th procedure. Mack Earl is a 15-year-old boy who first came to a mobile screening three hours from the hospital. He was born with a left clubfoot, and the lack of a fibula bone in his right leg had also caused his right leg to shorten. These two conditions forced him to walk on his knees his whole life. His family sought medical help when he was three, but decided not to continue due to the pain it had caused him.

“I am always motivated by the love of my family. But there are times when I asked the Lord if this was a blessing or a curse,” Mack Earl shared. “God told me it’s a gift, and He gave these conditions to me because He knows I am strong enough to handle them. This is my destiny, so I have to make it my own,” he added. When asked about his dream, he shares that he wants to be an engineer one day. “I want to be high up and see all of these things, but I was starting to lose hope because of my condition.”

A little over a month after we met him, Mack Earl underwent his corrective surgery for his left clubfoot in November 2024. He had since then undergone physical preparations and therapy for his body to be ready for the next steps of his treatment. In the last week of April 2025, Mack Earl underwent below-knee amputation for his right leg in preparation for his eventual wearing of a prosthetic leg.

“I am very thankful to all the Tebow CURE staff, especially my doctor, Dr. Eide. I am also very grateful to Sir Peter and the rest of the team who conducted the mobile clinic in our town. I am most thankful to the partners and donors of the hospital who made all my surgeries possible,” Mack Earl happily shared in his short speech during the program. Marivic, Mack Earl’s mother, also shared how happy she and the rest of the family were now that their “Makoy” could finally walk after all these years. “I am very happy and thankful to the Lord and Tebow CURE for making all these things possible for Makoy. Thank you to the staff that took good care of us and to Mack’s doctors,” she tearfully shared.

The celebration then concluded with the formal donation turnover of the hospital’s first Diamond Partner, Apex Mining Co. Inc., which donated three million pesos to help support treatment of the hospital’s orthopedic cases, such as Mack Earl’s condition. Apex Mining’s president and CEO, Luis Sarmiento, ASEAN Eng., and Apex Mining’s VP for Legal, Mine Compliance & Risk, Atty. Rodulfo Palma led the turnover.

In his speech, Mr. Sarmiento shared the importance of the work Tebow CURE is doing. “We are happy to be a part of this mission,” he excitedly shared. To make the celebration even more fun, Apex Mining brought their company mascots, “Apeks” and “Mayning”, who did a little dance number which all the staff enjoyed. After the program, Peter and Dr. Lastroni, representatives from the hospital’s board of trustees, senior management team, and Apex Mining heads, opened the newly renovated Timmy’s Playroom. The upgrades included new playroom equipment. Some invited  Tebow CURE patients enjoyed the freshly opened space that day.

We are incredibly blessed and beyond thankful to have had the opportunity to touch the lives of the children who have passed through our doors over the last ten years. We are also grateful for God’s sustaining grace and the outpouring of people who have the same heart for mission and are ready and willing to join us inside and outside the hospital. We pray to continue serving more kids and providing healing in all aspects of their lives. We encourage you to join this mission and support thousands more children in the future.
