Surpassing Goals: A Celebration of Partnerships and Helping Kids Heal

Since its inception, Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital has rooted itself in the mission of helping kids heal and proclaiming the kingdom of God. After nine fruitful years, the mission remains at the heart of everything we do.

Through the Almighty’s faithfulness, Tebow CURE has been blessed to surpass its goals in all aspects compared to the last fiscal year. From July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, we had 16,306 patient visits, 1,682 admissions, 2,190 procedures, 7,123 people reached, 2,569 faith expressions, and 184 clinical trainees. This was all possible because of the various people who have embraced the mission as their own.

On October 4, 2024, we honored our partners and donors during our CURE Partner’s Thanksgiving Night, celebrating their invaluable contributions.

CURE Philippines Executive Director Peter Cowles started the celebration with his opening speech. “Again, we are pleased to share with you that we have had another record-breaking year as to the number of admissions and surgical procedures completed,” he said at the beginning of his speech. He then proudly presented patient stories, the report on the hospital’s milestones and statistics for the past fiscal year, and the presentation of the Annual Report. As he concluded his welcoming speech, Peter urged everyone to continue spreading awareness about the hospital and its services and to remain committed to supporting children living with treatable disabilities in the Philippines.

Partners and donors also had the incredible chance to meet and hear stories directly from several CURE patients. Among them was Shairene, a patient who had bowed legs. In an emotional speech, she recalled the hardships of life before treatment and how it has positively changed after she received healing. “My daughter’s dream is to be a flight attendant. Thanks to Tebow CURE, my daughter will one day be able to say, ‘Hi Ma’am, Hi Sir, welcome to this flight.’ Thank you so much for making that a possibility,” Septhea, Shairene’s mother, happily said in their message of gratitude.

Other speakers reflected on their long-standing partnerships with the hospital. One of the speakers was Ms. Bea Agnir, Chairman of the Missions & Benevolence Ministry for Union Church of Manila, a partner of Tebow CURE for over eight years. She remarked, “May we continue to be a source of hope, healing, and compassion for the children and the families we serve.”

Mr. Norman Gaston Clemente, from the Don Antonio O. Floirendo, Sr. (AOF) Foundation, celebrated their nine-year collaboration, affirming their commitment to Tebow CURE. He said, “As we move forward, the AOF Foundation remains fully dedicated to this cause. It brings us joy to continue this journey with Tebow CURE.”

In closing, Dr. Eide Amparo, Tebow CURE’s Deputy Director, thanked those who attended the event. He concluded, “I know for you donors, it is sometimes painful for you donors to give. It is painful for the pocket. But I want you to realize that when you look into the patient’s eyes, it’s really worth everything. So on behalf of them, thank you so much. I hope next year I will see you again and that there will be more of us joining.”

We sincerely thank our partners, donors, and all who have helped us exceed our goals. Your support reflects the impact of our collective efforts in changing lives, one child at a time.
