Tebow CURE’s Momentum: Celebrating Partnership to Greater Heights

The Tebow CURE Hospital opened its doors 10 years ago with the mission of providing world-class treatment to marginalized communities. In those years, the hospital found like-minded individuals who shared in the mission and provided more opportunities for patients to heal. Due to these partnerships, Tebow CURE has exceeded its goals for Fiscal Year 2025 (July 2024 – June 2025), accommodating over 19,000 patient visits, 1,933 admissions, and 2,598 procedures. We are also very blessed to spiritually reach 9,847 people, resulting in 2,918 faith expressions.
On October 16th, the annual Tebow CURE Partners Thanksgiving Event, with the theme “MOMENTUM: Pressing On to Even Greater Impact,” was held at the Park Inn by Radisson Davao. The event is an annual way to honor the community of partners who have helped and continue to help make the mission possible. The event was full of stories of healing and hope, reminding everyone of the profound impact of generosity, prayer, and partnership.

Dr. Eide Amparo, Tebow CURE’s Deputy Director and Lead Orthopedic Surgeon, opened the event, thanking the partners present, saying, “We as doctors are the hands of this hospital, but you, our partners, are the heart that makes us work.” Mr. Peter Cowles, the Tebow CURE’s Executive Director, then presented the hospital’s year-end report. In his presentation, Peter shared the milestones the hospital has reached this year, highlighting the areas we have reached for the first time
Looking forward to next year, Mr. Cowles stressed the hospital’s initiative to hold more outreaches further away from Davao to reach the most vulnerable among us. Mr. Cowles also presented the concept of “HELP,” which stands for Help, Expertise, Love, and Partnerships, the things needed to heal more patients in the following year. “We need more patient houses to cater to the growing number of people coming in and out of the hospital“, Mr. Cowles added. He ended his comments by thanking the partners present.

Donors and partners were also able to meet three of the Tebow CURE patients who represent the thousands of successful surgeries and transformed lives the partnerships have provided. Among them was Sean, a seven-year-old boy, who had been born with clubfoot. His mother, Jenny, happily shared how Tebow CURE and its partners have changed her son’s life, saying, “Thank you to Tebow CURE and partners, Sean’s feet are now fully healed! He can walk properly and without difficulty, allowing him to participate in school activities. Our plans for him to finish school will soon come true.”
Tebow CURE venue partner, Park Inn by Radisson, also surprised the patients and their guardians with an overnight stay voucher at the hotel as a gift for being an inspiration of strength and perseverance.

Atty. Rudolfo Palma, APEX Mining’s VP for Legal, Mine Compliance & Risk, spoke on behalf of Mr. Luis R. Sarmiento, ASEAN Eng., President & CEO, as a representative of our partners. Atty. Palma shared how honored the company is in helping the hospital, saying, “I am honored that you, Tebow CURE, have opened your doors to businessmen, allowing us the privilege to touch the lives of the young ones. This is what matters most to us because, indeed, not everyone is given the opportunity to be of service to others. APEX mining is proud to be counted among Tebow CURE’s roster of donors helping children grow up and become Filipinos who will make our nation great.”
Dr. Jan Micah Tan, an orthopedic surgeon, closed the night’s festivities and expressed gratitude for the impact the donors have made. “Through the kids here tonight, we can really see the impact we have shared, and I believe that maybe one of our patients will have a big role and impact in the future. Thank you, donors, and thank you everyone, for making all these possible,” he shared.

The event served as a moment of reflection and gratitude, looking back on a year filled with transformed lives. It was also a testament to what the Almighty God can do through people who believe in bringing healing in His name. Thank you to our donors and sponsors who continue to share the mission of healing kids one surgery at a time.
