Twice the Sparkle at Tebow CURE’s Two Nights to Shine 2026

For nine years, Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital, in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation, has celebrated Night to Shine, a Valentine’s prom event for children with treatable conditions and special needs. Teens attending are called the Kings and Queens of the Night and treated as VIPs and royalty. This year is especially significant, as we doubled the celebration by hosting two Night to Shines through a very special partnership formed with the same goal: helping kids heal!

On Valentine’s Eve 2026 (February 13th), 78 VIPs and their guardians gathered at the Davao Convention Center to celebrate this year’s Davao-based Night to Shine. They were joined by 75 church buddies and celebrated alongside over 200 Tebow CURE volunteers, doctors, and guests. There were 53 Tebow CURE orthopedic and cleft patients, 15 benefactors from the Cristina Foundation for Persons with Down Syndrome Inc., and 10 hearing-impaired students from SPED Bangkal National High School in Davao City.

The following week, on February 21st, a second Night to Shine was held in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, through Mt. Moriah Christian Church. Twelve patients treated at Tebow CURE, 16 teens with hearing impairment, and 26 teens with Down syndrome were gathered to be celebrated with church buddies, parents, volunteers, and guests. Through donations from friends overseas, they received gowns and polos. Hair, makeup, and grooming sessions were also available at no cost to help them feel and look their best on their special night.

At the Davao-based celebration, guests were entertained by a showcase of the VIP’s talents, including a heartfelt serenade by Sante, another clubfoot patient currently in treatment at the hospital. In another segment, Peter June (PJ) Simon, a renowned basketball player, shared his special message as the night’s inspirational speaker. In his speech, he shared how important it is to know God and God’s love, and how the night has shown the power of that love. “It is important that we know God and know his love, and this event is one of the best ways for us to feel that through our kings and queens,” PJ happily shared.

At the Malaybalay-based celebration, the VIP Kings and Queens treated the guests to a cotillion, which emphasized the prom-like aspect of the celebration. Mayor Jay Warren Pabillaran, Mayor of Malaybalay, shared his gratitude for the partnership that made Night to Shine in their city possible. “We attended this event last year in Davao City. We dreamed of bringing this event here, and it became a reality,” Mayor Warren shared. “We thank and value this partnership with Tebow CURE that went beyond healing kids to making the children of Bukidnon’s dream come true,” he added.

Tebow CURE Executive Director, Peter Cowles, shared meaningful messages on both Night to Shine events, saying, “You are all persons of value. Whether you have a hearing impairment, Down syndrome, or a condition we’ve treated at Tebow CURE, or conditions that cannot be treated, as you’ve heard earlier, God loves every one of you … Don’t go home thinking that you are only kings and queens now. Go home knowing you are kings and queens always! And you are to celebrate how God loves you. You are special, you are loved, and you belong in our community. You are a part of everything that we do,” he added in encouragement.

The highlight of the events was the crowning of our kings and queens. All of them were crowned by their church buddies from over 20 churches combined, who will also help them, and use local churches for spiritual support. All event halls erupted with cheers and claps as each VIP was celebrated in their own right as a king or queen of the night. After his crowning moment, MJ, a patient from Malaybalay being treated for bowed legs, was asked how he felt about being part of the event. “Thank you to Tebow CURE for this special event. This is my first time attending, and I am very happy I am here,” he cheerfully shared. Everyone in attendance at both events ended the celebration with a bang, gathering on the dance floor to enjoy the rest of the time through dancing and making new friends and memories.

Regardless of who you are, there’s a space for you to be your authentic self and show that to people who value you. The main goal of Night to Shine is to demonstrate that God’s love knows no bounds or form. Every year since our partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation, we have seen that love showcased in an extraordinary event for people of value. This year’s love was amplified through a strong partnership with the local government of Malaybalay, which shares the same mission of helping kids heal and feel special in every way possible. This shows the power of intentional relationships and how it’s slowly paving the way for more kids to be seen, loved, and healed wherever they are.

We are blessed with our partnership with Tim Tebow Foundation, the City of Malaybalay, and all of the existing partnerships that enable us to change lives one surgery and one celebration at a time. You too can help us extend this love to more children through your help.

To God be the Glory!
